Just a quick odds-and-ends post here. First of all, this next user-submitted poem (written by tweedymcgee, who wrote that fantastic Prufrock poem earlier) is based on the Rudyard Kipling poem Gunga Din. You might want to read Kipling’s poem first to truly appreciate how well-constructed tweedymcgee’s adaptation is.
It turns out I waited a day too long to post it, since pretty much all of the Dirkbot developments that it predicted have begun playing out in the actual comic. So I’m publishing it asap before canon can mess with it any more or completely Joss it. Sorry about that, tweedymcgee!
And on an unrelated note, when writing my latest poem, I totally forgot that in the context of Alpha Derse, the character I called “Diamonds Droog” is actually the Draconian Dignitary and “Spades Slick” is Jack Noir; oops. I don’t know if the mistake warrants re-writing the affected lines, but just know that I’m aware of the mistake and I sincerely apologize for it. #genuinesurpriseregret
